I am committed to an event in October, and I am not too sure why I ever committed. I have signed up to run 16 miles. Yes, sixteen big ones. Why have I done this?
Running is plain boring and hard to do. Lets be honest, there are very few people out there that can just get up in the morning and decide they would like to pound the pavements for half hour or so. I am certainly not one of those people, I am the complete reverse. It takes so much for me to gain the motivation to go and run the streets. An immense amount of mental torture is what I go through!
Like all exercise, once you complete a run you feel great and it’s a wonder why it is so hard to motivate?!
Anyway, so I have signed up to run 16 miles in the Kingston Breakfast run. I have done it before so I know I can do it. I’m strangely looking forward to it but I am finding it hard to go beyond five miles at the moment. This is a slight problem if you are trying to complete sixteen. When I done it before I was running for charitable reasons, I haven’t got it in me to ask for money this time around, I want to do this for a bit of fun and maybe one day attempt the marathon.
I am doing it with Danny from work; he has the head size of a zeppelin, so hopefully his legs will be able to carry him around the course.
Wish me luck
